Some children from Corvedale Primary School and their parents attended the Remembrance Day Service at St Catherine’s Church in Tugford on Sunday 11th November, the children performed two songs and received many compliments for their singing and impeccable behaviour during the service.
The whole school attended a service of remembrance at St Peter’s Church war memorial on the previous Friday. Year six children read out the names and told the stories of the soldiers from the parish who died during 1918.
Our choir will be busy again in the run up to Christmas performing at our own Carol Service at St Peters in Diddlebury on Thursday 20th December at 6:30pm to which anyone is welcome. Prior to that they have also been invited to perform at two events. The first is at Concord College near Shrewsbury. Following our success at their inter-school choir competition last summer, we have been invited to sing six songs to entertain visitors to their Christmas Fayre on Sunday 25th November. The second is closer to home when the children will be singing as one of choirs at the ‘Corvedale Sings Christmas’ on Sunday 9th December, what I building up to me a memorable event and hope you can come along to hear all the choirs sing.
Our younger children will be performing a nativity musical, called The Angel Express, on Tuesday and Wednesday (18th &19th December) mums, dads, grandmas and granddads all welcome.
The children ‘dressed down’ for the BBC Children in Need appeal an raised just under £100 with their generous donations.
